We believe that the Bible is the inspired word of God (2 Timothy 3:16), and we strive to have no creed but the Bible.
We believe that there is only one God (Deuteronomy 32:39) who is all-powerful (2 Chronicles 20:6), all-knowing (1 John 3:20), and is everywhere (Jeremiah 23:23-24).
We believe that God is love (1 John 4:16, John 3:16)
We believe that God created the world (Genesis 1:1)
We believe that Jesus was born of a virgin (Matthew 1:23), lived a sinless life (Hebrews 4:15, John 8:46), and died for the remission of our sins (Ephesus 1:7).
We believe that by the grace of God, Jesus’ sacrifice is offered to us as a gift (Romans 3:24), that we receive through faith (Hebrews 11:6).
We believe that man is not justified by faith alone (James 2:24), but must respond by repenting and being baptized (Acts 2:38).
We believe that baptism is a burial in water that washes away our sins (Acts 22:16 & 1 Peter 3:21), that we rise to eternal life (Romans 6:4), and receive the indwelling of the Holy Spirit (Romans 8:11).
We believe that God adds baptized believers to his church (Acts 2:41, 47), which is his body, and over which he is the head (Ephesians 5:23).
We believe that the church should meet weekly to remember Christ through communion (Acts 20:7), must seek the lost and offer them salvation (2 Corinthians 5:18-20), and do good to all men, especially those of the household of faith (Galatians 6:10).
We believe that loving God with all your heart, soul, and mind, and loving neighbours as yourself (Matthew 22:37-39) is the underlying objective of our faith, doctrine, relationships, service, and behaviour.
We believe that there is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all (Ephesus 4:4-6)
We believe that Jesus Christ is the head of the church (Ephesus 1:22) and Church is an autonomous (1 Corinthians 6:1-5).
At Church of Christ, we are dedicated to preaching the New Testament Gospel and strengthening the faith of believers. Our ministry is led by B. Vijaya Kumar, a devoted servant of God who ministers at both the Vidyanagar Church of Christ and the Tirupati Church of Christ. His mission is to spread the true Gospel and restore the principles of First-Century Christianity, inspiring local congregations to grow in faith and devotion.
B. Vijaya Kumar was born into a devout Christian family in Andhra Pradesh, India. His father, Mr. Israel, was an ex-serviceman in the Indian Army, and his mother, Mrs. Bhaghyamma, was a faithful member of the Vidyanagar Church of Christ. In 1987, he was baptized by the late Brother B. Thomas, a preacher at the Gudur Church of Christ, marking the beginning of his lifelong commitment to ministry.
In 1992, Vijaya Kumar enrolled at the National Bible College in Chennai, where he earned his Bachelor of Biblical Studies (B.B.S.) and Master’s Degree in Bible Studies. Since then, he has passionately served the Lord, preaching and guiding congregations with unwavering dedication.
B. Vijaya Kumar is blessed to share his life and ministry with his wife, K. Swarupa, a well-educated and spiritually committed woman. Together, they form a strong partnership in serving the church. Swarupa is actively involved in ministry, teaching Sunday School, speaking at women’s meetings, and mentoring young women. She also provides spiritual counseling to students and young ladies, helping them grow in faith and character.
B. Vijaya Kumar and K. Swarupa are blessed with a Christian family rooted in faith. They have two children, Mr. B. Victor Timothy (24 years old) and Ms. Tabitha Shainny (21 years old), both of whom have been raised with strong Christian values and continue to uphold the teachings of their parents.
As a family and a church, we are committed to serving the Lord and our community. Through preaching, teaching, and mentoring, we aim to strengthen believers and share the love of Christ with all. We invite you to join us in worship and fellowship as we seek to live out the Gospel in our daily lives.
